Festival Of Praise
FOP never fails to bring me closer to God every year. This year, Parachute band was one of the worship leaders and I must say that I have never taken much notice of their songs until when I saw the lyrics and sang it from my heart. This particular song, 'Love It Leads Me' totally captured my heart and it just burrowed deep down into my head. One week passed, I still find myself singing at home, office, traveling and including all the toilet breaks!
"For your love will lead me, to the place where I can worship.. For your love will lead me, to that place.."
Truly, my heart was turned to worship no matter where I am.
Reuben Morgan from Hillsong was exceptionally good too. I think this fact is well-known by many. God's presence was pulled down so strongly and the whole of indoor stadium was so overwhelmed as every individual worship from within them. It's just so amazing how He works!
The word was given by Rev. Mark Conner. Summary of sermon:
1. The world will pass away, but our God is everlasting. So, love Him not the world. To love Him means not just believing but knowing him personally. You can tell others that your faith is in God but, faith without action = nothing.
1 John 2:17
' Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world, the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. '
Goodness, this verse has been popping up before me so often these few weeks. Maybe I have been too much of a forgetful blur sotong, so God have to remind me over and over again. So sweet of Him.. Give thanks! :)
2. Love people, love your neighbour as yourself. Love last for eternity. Very often we tend to treat people according to their values and status, but He sees all the same. This includes His enemies too. We are to be like Him!
3. Investing your time, talent and resources doing His work. Think about the gifts He have placed in us and used them in the right place, in the right ministries. We are His workmanship to do GOOD THINGS, not watch tv, play PSP or party etc. Not saying we can't do things that we enjoy but they have to be done in balance. We have to break this selfish orientation in us and be a humble servant. Be a participant in building His kingdom and not a spectator. USE your talent!
Ephesians 2:10
' For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. '

Had a chat recently which felt a lil weird, but I'm truly amazed again by how He can teach us, His beloved children in such an unique and supernatural way. I'm blessed. Praise Him!
