Prayers and opportunities
How many times have we prayed for things and we felt that our prayer had not been answered? Have God not heard our prayers? Or was it us who have not taken time to understand and experience His touches he have placed upon us? Have we really understood the real purpose of prayers?
"God says:
Let me ask you something. If someone prayed for patience, do you think God gives him patience? Or does He gives him the opportunity to be patient?
If someone prayed for courage, does God give him courage? Or does He give him opportunities to be courageous?
If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps the family with warm fuzzy feelings? Or does He give them opportunities to love each other?"
-Quotation from Evan Almighty
Yes, let's ask ourselves this:
How many times have we seize and grab the opportunities God have given us and worked on it? God has always been there! He listens to our every prayer and keeps us in His sight on everything that we are doing at every moment. He creates and place opportunities/trials for us to stretch our limits and deepen our faith. BUT it is us who have to be willing to take up the opportunities in order for God to work on us and develop us!
Matthew 7:7-8"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
However, please note: This does not apply to selfish or sinful prayers, only good and truthful prayers will be entertained. Examine the motives of your heart!
James 4:2,3
"You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you did not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."
Psalm 67:17
"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the LORD will not listen."- - - - -I still can't get myself to accept the fact that I have to travel one and a half hour to get to my work place. Oh well... Shall skip that. First day of attachmentMy papa fetched Aloy from buona vista mrt station. We reported late due to the rain, traffic jam, could not find the place and we got stucked outside the company's door cos the doorbell was spoilt. Took quite some time to fill and sign various forms. Ended up taking them home and finish. We went for 3 levels of lab tours and helped to do some stocktaking. Was given a piece of paper full of inorganic chemistry questions to do! goodness -.- Met new friends! (: One from NTU, two from TP and a few of the staff there.Second day of attachmentDidn't do much today. Was reading GLP, protocols and journals for the whole day. Okay, I did surf blogs and chat on msn too. Hahaha. I get to sit on chairs with rollers! Was so bored that I rolled about in the office, touch here and there. If not stare blankly into the air. Time just pass so slowlyyyy. The best part of the day was my dinner! (: loves!God's answers are wiser than our prayers.
